Women Cricket – After Jhulan Goswami, Indian openers made a world record, Highest opening partnership

Before some days Jhulan Goswami became the all-time leading wicket-taker in ODIs, She has taken 181 wickets till now. Just after that Indian openers break the another world record.

Indian women were playing against Ireland women on May 15. Indian captain Mithali Raj won the toss and choose the batting first. And after that what happened was a dream for Indian opener and a bad dream for Ireland bowlers.

Indian opener Deepti Sharma and Poonam Raut started the winning and they scored 320 runs for the first wicket. That is highest partnership till now. Both scored 320 runs in 45.3 runs.

Poonam rout retired hurt and scored 109 in 116 balls and hit 11 boundaries. On the other hand Deepti Sharma scored a mammoth 188 runs in 160 ball with 27 boundaries and 2 sixes. she hit the most number of boundaries scored in an innings . Deepti was finally dismissed by Rachel Delaney in the 46th over after which Raut retired out.

India scored 358-3 in 50 overs. After that Indian bowlers did good job, they restricted Ireland team on 109 in 40 overs.

Shikha Pandey took 3 wickets in 9 overs and leaked only 16 runs, and her partner Rajeshwari took 4 wicktes in 8 overs and just gave 18 runs.
